Hi friends,
I hope you are all enjoying your Friday evening as the month comes to a close. If you know me at all, you know I LOVE all things Harry Potter. Growing up my bedroom was covered with pictures from every magazine I could get my hands on, calendar pictures, news clips, even small objects Harry Potter related that I could get to stick to my wall. I had a Harry Potter tooth brush and an entire 2 shelves on my tiny little book shelf dedicated to the books, movies, and favorite magazines that had articles about the series. I have every movie on DVD and Blue Ray. I have a tattoo on my thigh that is a huge part of the Harry Potter books but also a very important life lesson. An obsession?? Maybe. But I'm okay with it.
It's been almost 10 years since the release of the last Harry Potter book. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released July 21, 2007. True Potter Heads knew this could not be the end. 14 years of our lives, if followed from the beginning of the the first book to the end of the last movie, followed the story of Harry Potter. I remember when the final movie came out. It was so bitter sweet and I, I'm sure like many others, were not ready to say goodbye to our favorite characters who had become friends. After all, 14 years is a long time to have a character in your life.
Some how, deep down, I knew that wouldn't be the end. It just couldn't be. The final words of the last book and movie say.. " All was well." (Until the next adventure waiting for the Harry Potter characters.)
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is actually a play. It is currently playing in London. The screen play is set to release as a book THIS SUNDAY. From what I've read about it , we will get to see our favorite characters again as Harry's son, Albus, deals with his family's legacy. One that he never wanted. And Harry deals with a past that keeps coming back to haunt him.
To say I am excited about this release is an understatement. I've never read a screen play before and I imagine it will be a bit different than a novel. But I am very much looking forward to continuing the journey with Harry and the other characters we've come to know so well, even if it is a little different. This book can be pre-ordered at all major book stores and even small ones. Lot's of commercial stores are actually bringing back the midnight parties that took place for the original book releases.
I'll definitely be getting my copy soon!
