2016 was a great year in so many ways, with, of course, one or two really rough patches. The year flew by it seemed I think mostly because I was counting down to our wedding. Then of course I was counting down to our honeymoon.
We could not ask for a more beautiful day for our wedding. The sun was shining (which was a blessing we didn't think we would get.), our decorations all came together, even if it was the last minute, and the food and drink was wonderful. We are so thankful to have had so many come and celebrate with us as we took the next steps in life together.
Then was our Honeymoon. We traveled for the first time ever together. (That in itself was interesting.) We had SO MUCH FUN. We flew into Atlanta, Georgia and then in to Key West! Did you know they don't have terminals? You just get off the plane and walk in.. Mind blown over here.. (I know, I need to get out more...) It was warm, sunny, the food was fresh and yummy, there was a beach where ever you looked, and we RENTED A SCOOTER! That was definitely my husbands favorite part of the whole trip. I have to admit it was fun. We ate, we drank, we laid on the beach, we snorkeled, we para-sailed, we swam, we just had a wonderful time. However, I would say that Key West is not a place for kids.
My coaching business has also had growth. I am very excited to see what 2017 has in store on that front. I have very much enjoyed helping woman reach their health and fitness goals. I never thought I would ever own a fitness business but I am so grateful to have it. I'm ready to really run!
This year we also said good bye to a very good friend of ours. One of my husbands best friends passed this year after losing his battle with PTSD, something my husband also deals with daily. This makes my heart so sad. The world needs so much more awareness and help for those who have PTSD. 22 veterans a day take their own lives due to the battles they struggle internally. He was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, and a Marine. His memory will continue on in our heart and in his beautiful daughter.
2017 is a new year and I am very excited to see what is in store for us! I hope you are all closing out 2016 happy, healthy and with loved ones. I watched Bad Moms and laughed like crazy. Now I'm turning on Harry Potter and falling asleep.
I've got big goals for 2017. I'm ready.
Happy New Years friends!
