Who knew planning was so easy?

So I am not a bridezilla. I have loved planning every aspect of our wedding! Everything has fallen into place so easily. I am waiting for the disasters of planning to start and for my mood toward all the planning to change. As of right now, we have pretty much everything booked. We are having our ceremony at the Catholic church I grew up in and our reception will be at Byrncliff Resort and Conference Center. I love our "theme". We are having an "elegant country" theme. Complete with lanterns, lace, and old wooden wheels. (Possibly some mini hay bales.) Our DJ is booked, the meal is decided on, and craft making mode is in full swing! I love Pinterest! I know, I know, don't go overboard with the crafts. But they are so fun and I have really enjoyed making them! So far I have our card basket done, a little chalk board sign for the bar, and some burlap signs for the table. I think it's the right amount of crafts. (There will probably be more.) My bridesmaid dresses are going to be navy blue and simple. They come just below the knee and have a bit of a swooping back. Even though our theme is country, we will NOT be having the bridesmaids wear cowgirl boots. I do think if done right it looks nice, however, no.... just no. We are each having 6 people stand up with us. I am so excited to have my friends and family stand up with me. Our cake is going to be fab and I am so excited for it. My lovely fiance is getting a grooms cake. Why you might ask? Because, my boo wants a german chocolate cake. Not that there is anything wrong with a german chocolate cake. To me though, german chocolate is not a wedding cake. So he gets his own..... in the shape of Chewbaka (???? am I even close? IDK) Also, he wants the cake toppers to be on the funnier comedic side. He's a nerd, I know. I've come to terms with that :)

So I am waiting for all the headache I've heard about from other brides about wedding planning. So far I love it! (Bring on the crafts!)

What Chair Are You?

Happy Monday friends!
I hope everybody had a great weekend. Ours  felt like a shotgun weekend. We went down to my hometown to visit my family and friends. My best friend just moved into a new house and we had a house warming party. Lots of yummy food! Then I got to pick up my dress!!!!!!! How exciting! let me tell you I was so excited to try it on again. Now I can try it on whenever I want! Then it was home again to watch the Bills spank the Dolphins all over the field. (Sorry Babe.)

So I am a fan of Grey's Anatomy. The season started this week and I just wanted to share something with you. I'll set the scenario for you in case you do not watch the show; In short, a female doctor (Bailey) is up for chief of surgery at the hospital. She meets her competition and temporarily feels defeated. Shes in surgery and her husband who is also a doctor (surprise, surprise) comes in and asks her what she is doing. She says shes doing her job and that the competition is over. She has lost. He asks her an interesting question. "What chair are you?" Now to us that also seems like a strange question. Then he explains. When Dr. Baileys son wanted to give up trombone (I think that was the instrument) she told him to stick it through because he had started something. She did not want him to just quit. And he is now first chair. We have all had this lesson from our parents at one point or another, but sometimes it takes us to grow up to really understand. In the end she does her presentation in the OR and she ends up being the clear choice for chief. She is now first chair. Sometimes we want to give up on the journey we are on. For me, it's a health and fitness journey. I want to be first chair. There have been times I have wanted to quit. In the past, I have quit and regretted it. Not this time. Not me. I am working for the healthy lifestyle I want. I have a very distinct image in my mind of who I want to be. I am not competing with anybody but myself and I will be first chair in my life.

Whether you are up for a promotion or you are on your own health journey, ask yourself.....

 "What chair will you be?"

Hey Y'all! It's Fall!!

So it seems every year the hype about fall gets more intense. I can understand why, it is a beautiful time of year. I have to admit, I also love the season.

Things I look forward to in the fall
1. Comfortable weather! Don't get me wrong, I am a warm weather LOVER! Like, really. But there's just something about the low to mid 70's that is just perfect for pretty much everything outdoor related.

2. Comfy and cute clothing! I love fall clothes. I love boots and scarves, long sleeves and hoodies!

3. I hate to admit it, but, I like haunted houses. There, I said it. I hate being scared. Not my favorite thing at all. But, there is something about a haunted house that lets you be scared but also know that you're really safe and not in any real danger. There is a bit of a rush! Plus, snuggling up close to my man for protection isn't so bad..

4. Pumpkin everything! Just like everybody else I am a shoe in to be at Tim Hortons for the pumpkin yummies. Along those lines, here is a pumpkin Sheology/protein drink to try! (It's really yummy!)  I've even added coffee so it's kind of like a frozen latte. MMM

Plus fall is just so beautiful! It's a great time of year to drive around (or walk) and see what nature has to offer. Life is so beautiful this time of year especially with the leaves changing colors. It is a perfect time to capture important moments and milestones. Which is exactly what we are going to do! Our engagement pictures are going to be happening in the next few weeks and this girl is so excited!

Now it's time to get my booty cakes to work! It's workout time for this girl.
Happy Friday Y'all!

I'm Back!

Hey everybody! It's been SSSOOO LONG!!! What have you all been up to? Sorry for the absence, but not to fear I am back! It feels great!!!

So whats been going on? Well...... I'm engaged!!! We got engaged in January and are planning our wedding for next summer. Thankfully we have most of the big things out of the way already! We are having more of a "country" themed wedding since we both grew up in the country and love the lifestyle. (Plus everything that comes with it is so darn cute!) Our color scheme is navy, burlap, and lace. I know lots of country themed weddings use the burlap but I don't care. I simply love the way it looks with the navy color. It's ruggedness paired with lace makes it so beautiful. That's the biggest news.

Last time I was writing I was talking about the 21 Day Fix. I did do the first round and got amazing results. However, after that I slowly fell off the train (again) but I've picked myself back up and am hopping back on. (For good this time.) After all, I have a wedding dress I need to look fabulous in! I started another round of The Fix yesterday, and this time I promise to keep you all in the loop with the results! In the mean time I have also started going to the gym with my fiance. (so fun to say that still)

We are very excited for what the future has in store for us. I promise promise promise to write to y'all more and keep my little corner of the world alive this time!

Until next time!
