Happy Monday friends!
I hope everybody had a great weekend. Ours felt like a shotgun weekend. We went down to my hometown to visit my family and friends. My best friend just moved into a new house and we had a house warming party. Lots of yummy food! Then I got to pick up my dress!!!!!!! How exciting! let me tell you I was so excited to try it on again. Now I can try it on whenever I want! Then it was home again to watch the Bills spank the Dolphins all over the field. (Sorry Babe.)
So I am a fan of Grey's Anatomy. The season started this week and I just wanted to share something with you. I'll set the scenario for you in case you do not watch the show; In short, a female doctor (Bailey) is up for chief of surgery at the hospital. She meets her competition and temporarily feels defeated. Shes in surgery and her husband who is also a doctor (surprise, surprise) comes in and asks her what she is doing. She says shes doing her job and that the competition is over. She has lost. He asks her an interesting question. "What chair are you?" Now to us that also seems like a strange question. Then he explains. When Dr. Baileys son wanted to give up trombone (I think that was the instrument) she told him to stick it through because he had started something. She did not want him to just quit. And he is now first chair. We have all had this lesson from our parents at one point or another, but sometimes it takes us to grow up to really understand. In the end she does her presentation in the OR and she ends up being the clear choice for chief. She is now first chair. Sometimes we want to give up on the journey we are on. For me, it's a health and fitness journey. I want to be first chair. There have been times I have wanted to quit. In the past, I have quit and regretted it. Not this time. Not me. I am working for the healthy lifestyle I want. I have a very distinct image in my mind of who I want to be. I am not competing with anybody but myself and I will be first chair in my life.
Whether you are up for a promotion or you are on your own health journey, ask yourself.....
"What chair will you be?"
