DUN DUN DUN!! Football Season Snacks

So football season is in full swing! My team is the Buffalo Bills. I grew up in Western Ny so it's pretty much a give. Not to mention my brothers and father are hard core fans. (All but one who is a Chargers fan) I thought it would be great to do a post about healthier options for snacks or appetizers while watching the big game. I've been hosting friends almost every weekend for the games which is great except all we have been eating is pizza. So hopefully this will help me spice things up a bit.

1. Bruschetta
I LOVE bruschetta!!! Turns out, it's so easy to make. All you need is Italian bread, tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, basil, and mozzarella. You can always use a balsamic vinaigrette to spice it up. Dice up some tomatoes, mix in a touch of olive oil and basil, place on a piece of Italian bread and sprinkle with mozzarella and bake for just a few minutes until cheese is melty and warmed through.

2.Chicken Kabobs.
I love this one because its so unique. I would never show up to a football party and expect kabobs of any kind. This is such a versatile option. If you know there are picky eaters coming you can set out multiple options to place on the kabob. Make some mildly seasoned chicken so that it is ready as well as some cooked veggies. You can use sweet peppers or hot peppers, onions, potatoes, tomatoes.... pretty much whatever you want! kabobs are fun and easy.

3. Mini Pizzas
So I know I said we've been having pizza but this kind would be a much better option and still yummy! I use a wheat tortilla shell. Put your sauce on it and mozzarella cheese. Then top with all sorts of veggies, maybe some chicken or turkey pepperoni. (trust me it tastes the same as the other pepperoni) bake until cheese is melted! mmmm yum!

I am looking forward to a new cookbook that the creator of the 21 Day Fix has come out with. It's called Fixate. It's available now I just need to order it. I NEED TO!If you are interested in healthy recipes with this cook book let me know and I can help you order it. The cost is $19.95

Healthy eating ladies and gents! And may your team kick butt!
